SSC 191

I love the sketch challenges from Stamping 411. I have been wanting to try the 'faux pressed flower' technique since I first saw it a couple of months ago, however I had to wait til I had the square lattice embossing folder. This simple technique gives a great result for just the effort of a bit of cutting out.

Wedding Money Gift Holder

wedding 1

We are all off on a road trip tomorrow for a family wedding. As the couple are heading overseas for an extended period straight after the wedding the request was no gifts but money would be appreciated. This is a trend that seems to be getting more common and so I created this card and money holder in one item.

Apologies for the quality of the photos, they were taken after dark.

Sketch Challenge 190

ssc190

I loved this weekend’s sketch challenge from Stamping 411. As the ribbon is a big feature on the sketch I chose that first and then picked my colours from the new colour coach to match. I had a couple of teenage girls who are having birthdays in the next few weeks in mind when selecting the stamp set.

Project Recipe

Stamp set: Grunge Rock

Ink: old olive, pumpkin pie, rich razzleberry

Card: old olive, pumpkin pie, rich razzleberry and whisper white

Two in One

Two challenges in one card! The sketch is from Stamping 411 and the colours are from Just Add Ink. All I had to do was pick a stamp set, cheating a bit I know, but it does make making a card quick and easy if you are pushed for time! I wanted a little bit of colour on the flowers so I coloured the middle one with regal rose pastel which gives a lovely soft effect and you can add as little or as much colour as you like.

Project Recipe
Stamp Set: Fifth Ave Floral
Card: Early espresso, regal rose, rose red, soft suede and whisper white
Ink: Soft suede and regal rose
Accessories: Manhatten flower embossing folder, self adhesive pearls and SU! pastels
