Faux Silk Technique

Creating a faux silk background for this card was so much easier than I thought it would be. The ladies at Sunny challenges have made this technique part of their challenge this week. There is a link on their blog post to an easy to follow tutorial on splitcoast stampers. When I first saw the effect it gives I thought it would be perfect for a soft, girly vintage card for my daughter's 12th birthday. But Isobel is not the vintage type, nor even particularly girly so I wasn't sure how this would work on a more modern looking card. But I did get to use the sparkly glimmer brads I have been hoarding!

Project Recipe
Stamps: Extreme elements, Grunge rock and Perfect punches
Card: Calypso coral, pear pizzaz, soft suede, whisper white and white tissue paper
Ink: Soft suede, pear pizzaz, poppy parade, lucky limeade and calypso coral
Accessories: In colour glimmer brads, pear pizzaz seam binding ribbon, wide oval punch and Lots of tags sizzlets.
