Embossing..and lots of it!

The lovely ladies at Sunny challenges have given me another opportunity to be a guest designer. Along with a great sketch, the instruction this week is embossing. This is my favourite technique for adding texture and dimension to any project.

I have used both dry embossing (using a folder and the big shot) and heat embossing (using powder and the heat gun). I couldn't decide between gold or silver powder so thought 'what the heck!' and used both! I also sponged around the edges of the background embossing as this helps to make it stand out.

So make sure you check out the challenge and have a go.  I am in Bali at the moment, but will be checking in on what everyone is making.

Project Recipe
Stamp: Mixed Bunch
Card: Early espresso, pretty in pink and whisper white
Ink: pretty in pink and early espresso (sponging), versamark
Accessories: Gold and silver embossing powder, vintage wallpaper embossing folder, circles #2 die, 3/4" circle punch, blossom punch, early espresso tulle and self adhesive rhinestones

  1. This is really lovely, Carole. The embossed pink cardstock looks really elegant - I love it. Clever idea, using both gold and silver embossing - it looks great! Hope you're having a nice break :)

  2. The gold & silver worked a treat Carole - love the end result. Very rich. The addition of the Rhinestones really picks up the embossing. Thanks for being our week Guest Designer at Sunny Challenges & Creations. Very jealous of you having a great time in Bali......

  3. The heat embossing on your flower image really looks amazing. I love this flower as it can be used to represent so many different seasons. I agree that the sponging on the background embossing really brings it to life. Thanks for being a weekly guest designer at Sunny Challenges and Creations.

  4. Gorgeous card ... and another I've seen 'in person'! Hope you're all enjoying your holiday ... will catch up when you get back.
