Rhonda's Challenge Card

My good friend Rhonda is here stamping with me today, so I got her to do Nicole's Festive Friday challenge with me too. As she doesn't have her own blog or other photo posting site, I have created a post for her to show off her card.

New Challenge Blog

I have been following this blog for a while, but this is the first time I have entered one of Nicole's challenges. This week is a colour challenge making a Christmas card. Check out the challenge at Nicole's blog.

Project Recipe

More Christmas Cards

The lovely ladies at Sunny Challenges have once more asked me to be a guest designer for them. Something I am always honoured and willing to do. This week along with the sketch there is a technique part to the challenge, Triple Layers or Split layers. I found a number of different names for this technique, which is much easier than it looks. And, of course, I am still in Christmas mode as I try to get all my cards done by the 1st December.

Project Recipe
Stamps: Snow Swirled and Joyous Celebration
Card: Raspberry ripple, gumball green, gold accent and naturals white
Ink: raspberry ripple, gumball green and versamark
Accessories: gold embossing powder, gold marker, small scallop circle punch, holiday framelits and raspberry ripple ribbon

Christmas is Coming!

I am in full Christmas crafting mode this week as I get ready for my Christmas themed workshop on Friday night. I still haven't decided on the make and takes but this card may just be one of them! As soon as I saw the sketch from Sunny Challenges I knew what I wanted to do, so this card came together very quick.

I have used the new Core'dinations cardstock with a new embossing folder. Unfortunately it didn't photograph very well to show you the differences in the colour, but I love the distressed look it gives.

Project Recipe
Stamp: Joyous Celebration
Ink: Cherry cobbler and gumball green
Card: gumball green, cherry cobbler (core'dination) and naturals white
Accessories: Lacy brocade embossing folder, gumball green satin stitched ribbon, wide oval and large oval punches, self adhesive pearls

Feminine card

It certainly wasn't my intention to use three different stamp sets when I started this card, but as it evolved my original idea just didn't seem to fit anymore. The sketch is from Sunny challenges with the added instruction of making a feminine card.

I started with the Creative Elements set for the background, with the idea of using the flower and butterfly for the main image. But the stamps weren't quite right. So then I was going to use the silhouette and butterfly from Papaya Collage. The silhouette worked but not the butterfly, so... onto stamp set number three Papillon Potpourri for the butterfly!

Thank you to Susan

We are all safely back from our holiday in Bali. We all had a lovely time, enjoying the sun and all Bali has to offer. It is appropriate that the first card I make is to my sister Susan who made it all possible. Thank you Sue and Andrew for taking us and making sure we all had a great holiday.

The sketch is from Sunny Challenges with the extra instruction to use something new from the catalogue (as if I need an excuse!). The DSP is new as is the doilies die to make the flower.

Project Recipe

Card: Island indigo, more mustard and crumb cake
Ink: Island indigo, more mustard and crumb cake
