Petite Petal Flowers

I have used the petite petal punch to create the flowers on this card for the Just Add Ink sketch challenge. It has been a while since I have done any challenges so this simple sketch was just what I needed to get motivated again. I am still in Christmas mode, but this will probably the last card. I just want to make some star decorations for our front window display (maybe next week sometime...).

Project Recipe
Stamp: Bright & Beautiful
Ink: Cherry cobbler and gold encore for sponging all the edges
Card: Pear pizzaz, cherry cobbler and whisper white
Accessories: Petite petal punch and gold mini brads

Bright & Beautiful with Thinlits Label

Whilst appearing a simple card at first glance, this card does have a twist.

A couple of weeks ago, the Weekly deals included the thinlit label set. I have been wanting some of these for a while, especially after using Tania's set at Camp Kennedy so the extra discount meant a bargain I couldn't go past.
Combined with some stars, gold ribbon and some gold embossing, this card really sparkles when fully opened.

Project Recipe
Stamps: Bright & Beautiful
Card: Sahara sand
Ink: gold encore, sahara sand and versamark
Accessories: Trim the tree paper stack, labels thinlits, stars thinlits, gold embossing powdwer, gold glimmer paper and gold sequin ribbon

Kinda Serene

Two of my favourite stamp sets were used for this card, a new and an old set. The sunburst would have to be one of the best images for SU! The colours have come from Just Add Ink's colour challenge which you can see by clicking here.

I know it has been a while since I have posted but we have been a bit busy with the new house, the break in and then illness. Not much fun for anyone. But yesterday we added a new puppy to our house to liven things up!

Project Recipe
Stamps: Kinda Eclectic, serene silhouettes and something to say
Card: Basic black, bermuda bay and whisper white
Ink: Crushed curry, black stazon and bermuda bay
Accessories: crushed curry chevron ribbon 1/8 inch punch and oval punch

Papillon Potpourri

We have settled into our new house after a week of packing, cleaning and moving. Most of the boxes are unpacked and the furniture is in the right spot for the moment. And today we got the internet and TV back after being without both for almost a week. I have set up my craft spot in the main living area so that I am always with the family, rather than separate as I have been in the past. Hopefully this will mean I will get more time at my craft desk.

This is actually the second card I have made in my new spot. The first you will have to wait and see at Tania's party as it will be the make 'n' take.

Project Recipe
Stamps: Papillon potpourri and chalk talk
Card: Hello honey, pistachio pudding and whisper white
Ink: hello honey, pistachio pudding and baked brown sugar
Accessories: Lullaby dsp, white embossing powder, pistachio pudding ribbon, 11/4 and 1 3/8 inch circle punches and self adhesive pearls

New Catalogue

Hi Everyone

I have finally put up a link to the new catalogue. If you click on the picture of the catalogue in the right hand column it will take you directly to my web order store. You can have a look at the catalogue or check out the weekly deals and clearance rack.

I am not going to be creating anything for at least three weeks. I have packed up my craft room in readiness for the big house move on the 26th July. Hopefully everything goes well. I am taking some time off work and will find a bit of time at the end of that to make something. I have a great new fun set just for us girls that I can't wait to play with.

See you soon
Carole

Yay!! for New Stuff!!

I don't normally do inspiration challenges, never knowing where to start. But this week's challenge at Just Add Ink just leapt out at me. I love the colours and the geometric shapes. Both seem to go perfectly with my new products out of the new catalogue. And were great for some masculine cards I need to make this week.

Project Recipe
Stamps: Work of Art (new), chalk talk and gorgeous grunge
Card: Smoky slate, basic black and whisper white
Ink: hello honey (new), basic black and basic gray
Accessories: chalk talk framelits and moonlight paper stack (new)

Fine Feathers Retiring

When I first saw the challenge at Off The Rails I thought there were too many colours to fit on one card. I figured the best way to get them all on was to find a patterned paper to match. But all I had were flowers and then I couldn't work out how to get the feathers on which was the second half of the challenge! So I made my own patterned paper with the fine feathers stamp set and lots of bright inks. I kept the card simple because I used so many different colours. I have a number of male birthdays this month and this will work perfectly.

Project Recipe
Stamps: Fine Feathers (retiring) and label love
Card: Rich Razzleberry, tempting turquoise and whisper white
Ink: Rich razzleberry, tempting turquoise, old olive and pumpkin pie
Accessories: Rich razzleberry ribbon (retired), artisan label punch and scallop tag topper punch

Papaya Collage and More

It is a sketch challenge at Off the Rails this week. I got a bit carried away and ended up using 4 different stamps sets for this card. It was a bit fiddly cutting all the images out, but worth the extra effort.

Project Recipe
Stamps: Papaya collage, fine feathers, papillion potpourri and itty bitty banners
Card: Island indigo, pistachio pudding, crumb cake, very vanilla, versamark and gold
Ink: gold encore, island indigo, pistachio pudding and soft suede
Accessories: Venetian romance dsp, delicate dollies sizzlits, bitty banners sizzlits, self adhesive pearls, crumb cake seam binding ribbon, gold embossing powder

Something Different

Next year I am turning 50! Not sure where all the years went, but it is happening and if I want to celebrate in style I have to start saving. This is a $3 tin from red dot that I have decorated. It can't be opened except with a can opener so what goes in has to stay there. I plan to throw all my gold coins and a few small notes, plus what I make selling off my retired stamp sets.

Project recipe
Sweet sorbet dsp, gold embossed vellum, black and gold card stock, spiral die, pansy punch and assorted buttons, brads and rhinestones

I created this one for a swap for one of the facebook groups of which I am a member. It provides technique tutorials, swaps and challenges as well as a place to show off your own work.

Designer Guest Spot

I was honoured a few weeks ago to win one of the challenges on the Off The Rails blog. My prize was a guest spot showcasing a little about myself and to join in the team in creating a card for the new theme  challenge Rumble in the Jungle. Here is the link for the guest spot on Off the Rails. I had to dive into my stash of non SU products for the patterned paper and elephant stamp (he is just way too cute!).

Mother's Day cards

A set of Mother's Day cards. I don't have a mother sentiment stamp so I printed the greeting from My Digital Studio. MDS comes with a whole heap of retired stamp sets so I can always find something that fits. I just resized the stamp to fit where I needed the greeting to fit.

Project Recipe
Stamps: Peaceful Petals and flowering flourishes
Ink: summer starfruit, pistachio pudding and pool party
Card: summer starfruit, pistachio pudding, pool party and whisper white
Accessories: Sweet sorbet dsp (SAB), scallop tag topper punch, assorted brads, pool party taffeta ribbon. summer starfruit satin ribon, pistachio pudding ruffled ribbon and MDS

Fabric Strips

I hardly ever use fabric for anything. I don't sew except for borders on layouts. This week's challenge at Off The Rails was a real struggle for me. I bought this material so long ago I can't even remember where or when and it has sat in a drawer doing nothing because although it was very pretty it was an impulse buy with no thought of what I was going to do with it! So I should say thank you to the design team for making me use some of it up, lol. I had to keep it as easy as possible which is why I went with strips of material.

Green Swallowtail

Challenge card for Off the Rails Scrapbooking, this time green with a bit of bling. I have heat embossed the butterfly, coloured with old olive, daffodil delight and island indigo and then sponged gold over the whole lot when dry. There was also a lot of wiping with tissues between each colour!

Project Recipe
Stamp: Swallowtail

Sale - A - Bration Card

The challenge this week at Just Add Ink is to use something from the sale-a-bration catalogue. Yesterday i received the simply sent kit so I thought I would have a go with the elements in there. I love the spotty card bases, but found the cards shown a bit bland. One of the first things I did with the kit was cut the gold envelope liners in half. I still have liners, but they don't go all the way to the bottom of the envelope and I also now have pretty gold paper! I teamed this with one of the SAB stamp sets and a circle punch to offset all the banners.

Project Recipe
Stamps: Petal parade
Ink: tangerine tango
Accessories: SAB Good as Gold simply sent kit, self adhesive rhinestones and circle punch

Flower Shop

I did this card for the challenge on a new site called Off The Rails Scrapbooking, although it isn't just about scrapbooking but all papercrafts. They also have great tutorials from the design team each week showing step by step the techniques they used to create their layouts. This week they have introduced a card challenge so I thought I would give it a go.

Ink: pool party, basic gray, sahara sand and pink pirouette

Peaceful Petals

Thank you to the ladies who came to the Open house yesterday. We all had a lovely time chatting and catching up. We also took a look at the new catalogues as well as looking on line for a bit of inspiration, something I have been lacking lately. I spent all Monday sitting at my craft desk and created nothing, so a bit of encouragement from the ladies yesterday got me back at my desk this morning and I managed one card. It's a start, lol!!

Project Recipe
Stamps: Peaceful petals and Creative elements
Card: Smoky slate, island indigo and whisper white
Ink: Black stazon, island indigo and pistachio pudding
Accessories: Modern label punch, watercolor wonder dsp and pistachio pudding ruffled ribbon

Peaceful Petals sneak Peek

Two posts in one day! I was half way through writing the last post when James came to tell me there was a parcel for me. I knew instantly it was the preorder parcel I had been waiting for and just in time too! We are heading off to Esperance on Saturday for a week's holiday so today is my last chance to play as tomorrow is packing day. I have three cards to show, all using new products from the new Occassion's catalogue which starts on the 28th January.
Along with the preorder came a bunch of copies of the Occassion's catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration catalogue which starts the same day. As I said before I am away from Saturday, so I thought I would have a coffee and cake afternoon on Tuesday 28th January (2pm onwards). If you would like a copy of the catalogues and a chance for a chat, cake and coffee (or tea), send me an email.

Starburst Thank you Card

I have been seeing these starburst cards all over the internet lately, so I figured it was time I had a go myself. I got the instructions from Dawn Olchefske which were real easy to follow. I needed a couple of thank you cards so ended up making three of these all a little different.

Card: Basic black and very vanilla
Ink: Basic black, gold encore and versamark
Accessories: Gold embossing powder, summer starfruit ribbon (the closest I had to gold), modern medley dsp, gold glimmer brad and scallop oval and large oval punches, pansy punch (co-ords with flower shop stamps).
